Discuss your creativity and the art supplies you use to express it here!| Tell the different ways a discarded toothbrush can be put to use | | I generally use discarded TOOTHBRUSH
-> For cleaning up my combs,
-> Cleaning up nails,
-> For painting purpose where you dip toothbrush in color and pull with your thumb on drawing paper to get that sprayed effect
-> Cleaning pressure cooker whistle or rims of utensils where scrubber can't reach
-> Recently I have started cleaning my Mixer grinder with a brush an Oral-B. I put liquid drop inside the mixie, fill it with water and then rotate it with the back of a brush... so that I need not switch on the mixie to clean the blades....and thus save some electricity haha!....
What do you do with your discarded toothbrushes?//smile//
| | What kind of notebook paper do you use? Does it matter to you? | | Now, if you are really reading this, you are probably wondering what kind of question is that! ha ha
Well, forgive me if I vent just a bit here.
But I would think that notebook paper is notebook paper. And while just like a pen, so may have a preference of spiral, loose leaf, or even college ruled...I would still think that it is paper.
I had no clue that notebook paper came in different thicknesses, brightness, or even sizes!!! Wow! And I thought buying copier paper sounded like an Algebra problem! Now I have to worry about my kids' notebook paper too???
Bad thing is...we don't get all the specifics on the packages. My kids' French teacher does not allow college ruled....ok...I can handle that.
Yet she also does not allow the spiral notebooks because she can't stand the fringed edges. OK...fine. WalMart has a sell on the kind that has the perforations. But wait!!!! That paper she calls "smart edges" and she does not allow those because it makes the paper a few cm smaller then the loose leaf paper!
Oh! And she does not allow "cheap paper"...the kind that is so thin that supposedly it looks dingy or tears easily.Umm...sorry..my kids need notebook paper and I go and buy...
| | Mother's Alzheimers | | My mom has Alzheimers and is being cared for in a nursing facility. She wouldn't be happy with me and my loud family and she is getting the best of care. Yet I worry that I am letting her down. I don't think she knows who I am anymore. She hasn't spoken a word for almost a year. She eats well and feeds herself although sometimes she has to be reminded to put the fod in her mouth. SHe is bed ridden as she just seemed to forget how to walk. We THINK she had a stroke then, also.
Mostly she stares blankly at the TV. Doesn't seem to care when we leave after visiting. I watch from the door and she never turns her head as in "Hey where did they go?"
I do manicures for her and tweeze stray hairs, put her hair up if she looks too warm, etc. I buy her clothes appropriate for the season and sweaters, etc.
We provide her with magazines, drawing paper, coloring books, pens and crayons. Only uses them when I am there and can't spell her name anymore.
BUT She seems to be content.
I've been told there's no way to know what these patients are thinking.
I just hope if she does think anything it is "Well, she was nice"......
| | the pleasures of painting | | painting is one of the most enjoyable hobbies or occupations. only painters can feel the intensity of its pleasure. take yuor colours, drawing paper and board, walk to the countryside, sit under a shady tree and look at nature,,,your mind is at peace. your troubles and worries leave you as you contemplate nature. your look at the murmuring brook, the gathering clouds, or the shepherds piping thier farewell songs. you are in union with nature and unconsciously observing and enjoying its beauty and its serenity. you tend to gorget your own existence.
as you go on painting the landscape you are in perfect tranquility. no sad thoughts or irritable moods disturb the calmness and happiness of your mind. the paradox is that fully engaged in a purposeful pursuit.
painting is a pleasure cos hours slip by unnotices, and moreover, when you have finished a painting there is the strange sad feeling that you are leaving behind some of the most enjoyable hours of your life.
you are completely enjoying in full measure the beauty of unspoiled nature. you are in complete harmony with her.
painting help you to enjoy the beauty of unspoiled nature.

| | which news channel do u tune in2 | | BBC, the best carrier of news according to me and, this perception is not now, but since the time we had only radio.
If there was a breaking news,on the national or the local channels,my dad insisted on it being autheticated before believing. And BBC was the AUTHENTICATOR (dont know if this word exists)
Such was the craze of BBC then.
And 15 years later, my views about this channel has become even more positive.
The last incident that happened on BBC yesterday night was a documentry film on ’’Children of Beslam’’
All of us are aware of the unfortunate 3 day sad affair that went
on in a school in the then beautiful Beslam. For those of you who are more interested, the event happened on Sep1, 2004.
We read/saw/heard the news last year and like all other news this too went into the remote parts of our emory.
BBC did it.It revived that memory.Infact, according to me it wa the best way of remembrances of the 171 children, and 200+ adults that were killed on that day.
Ok let us talk about the documentary.
BBC captured some of best moments.
Actors---> Surviving children who had been kept on seige and who had seen death close to their eyes. Not for a moment, but FOR 3 DAYS IN...
