Discuss your creativity and the art supplies you use to express it here!| Have you heard of the water-based fuel technology? | | Sounds like a great idea to me, but I'm concerned that it might damage my engine.Basically, you put a quart jar of water under the hood, connect it to the battery and the electricity separates the hydrogen from the oxygen. The hydrogen is then piped into the engine manifold where it displaces the gasoline, making the engine use less gas and increasing your mileage. It costs about $60 in parts and you supposedly double or triple your mileage.Any mechanics here that could tell me if this is a good idea? There's all kinds of websites that are touting this idea and selling instructions for anywhere from $25 up to $400!
| | | what is the best moisturizer to use if.. | | hello, im a girl in my 20s.
recently ive been concerned about my skin. i think it becomes more easily damaged these days and i guess my skin has become more vulnerable. i know i have to use moisturizers and SPF lotions on my face as early as now in order not to lose great skin as i age.i have already found the perfect SPF spray on for my face. but i havent found any moisturizer that would fit me. i have tried buying lotion based moisturizers and another one that is water based from celeteque. but i guess the biggest problem is, whenever i use any moisturizer on my face, i dont break out, but my pores become visibly bigger. as in, you can see them become a lot more huge after a few days,. so i stopped using them entirely. i hope you can help recommend some nice moisturizers for me. thanks
| | What Piece Of Makeup Could You Not Live Without? | | I have a water based foundation that I really love, I believe it's by Maybelline, but not positive on that, I don't really look at the labels all day long, but it goes on pretty easily, and I absolutely love mac eyeshadows although I wish they would come out with some interesting colors, seems like they just have the same old stuff every time I go up there to check it out, or on the internet. What's your favorite eyeshadow, or other makeup that you can't live without? | |
| | pure novice | | i have not had any proper training with painting, just a true blue amateur. the things i know about stretching a canvas and priming i've learned from painters i know. however, i have a question overlooked during one of my discussions with my painter friends, and i'm too lazy to surf the net, since i'm hooked to responding to discussions here. anyway, can we use oil paint with a canvas panel primed with water-based flat white paint???i would have used gesso, but i cant find any here in our little island. any input would be much appreciated. i've started on two canvases already:( | |
| | Oh my kids can be so funny! And embarassing! | | So, my youngest son, while I had inadvertently dozed off on my couch the other day, (my older kids were playing with him), found a bottle of Astroglide in my dresser drawer. He proceeded to unscrew the cover, and dump an entire bottle of lube on my coffee table! I tried to take a towel and clean it up, but with the consistency, it just pushed it off the coffee table and onto the floor. GROSS!! Luckily it was water-based!! I finally got it cleaned up with a nice thick towel. Note to self: no more accidental dozing on the couch!! So tell me something funny your kiddos have done? Or just comment on my funny story if you want to! I need some laughs today! | |
| | How Clean Is The Air You Are Breathing? | | How safe is the air that you breath at work, home and in your vehicle or even where you shop? Did you know that many of the products we use in our homes, at school, or in the office can contain or release chemicals into the air. In fact, many cleaners, paints, and other such products have a warning on the container, warning users that the product should only be used in well-ventilated areas. Please always make sure to read the label of the cleaners, paints, and other similar products prior to using and always follow the manufacturer's instructions. To help improve air quality, look for the following on the labels of the products you purchase:
Use products that do not contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or that contain very low amounts of these compounds.
Avoid using aerosol products or equipment such as paint sprayers whenever possible. Look for and use water based products, such as water-based paints.
Ensure all products containing VOCs are stored safely in your home in airtight containers. I have asthma and allergies and I have to be very careful to keep the air in my home as clean as possible. The damp winter that we had this winter has caused some...
| | Greed, Gullibility and Guilt | | This happened about more than 5 years back.
Fancy me, at this late stage in life, getting conned by a scratch-and-win game.
I was definitely not the first to fell for it; nor will I be the last.
I knew that it has been happening through the papers. You will never know until it confronts you and hits you right smack in the face.
An innocent phone call brought about a train of events. The aftermath of the events still reverberates till this day. I still feel sheepish thinking about my gullibility.
“Are you Mr. X?” I replied in the affirmative. I was told my name was selected by Telekoms Malaysia at a “white goods” fair held at Bukit Jalil Stadium. I had won a prize in absentia. Could I collect it at their office in Klang? This Sunday at 3.00 p.m.? I said it was a date.
So with my wife, I drove to Klang; got lost a couple of times but I finally found the shop. And then they started the con.
You have won a multipurpose cleaner. It is worth RM40.00. By the way, today is the last day of our lucky draw. Would you like to try your luck? So they gave me 5 scratch-and-win cards to choose from. I chose and scratched one.
Lo and behold! I won RM3, 500 worth of prizes. These include a...
| | Near Death Experiences. | | I am sure many of us just missed death by inches or by minutes or by sheer luck. Some of the situations we found ourselves in were self inflicted while others were just in the wrong place or in the wrong car or whatever. I can recall three self inflicted cases. As a young boy, I was always curious about a disused well behind my house. One day, just after a heavy downpour, I was in the backyard and curiosity got the better of me. I moseyed to the disused well and looked down from the edge. There were tiny creatures swimming in the well. I thought they were fishes (They were actually tadpoles!)and so I ran back to the home to get a bottle to collect the 'fishes'. However, as I got near the edge of the well, it caved in and I was in the well, struggling to get out of the water. I must have drank plenty of well water before I managed to get a toe-hold on the well's side and grabbed the grasses to pull myself out. Fear was on my face. I could have drowned. I sat in the garden for at least one hour or so trying to recompose myself. Truly frightening. The second incident-again I was behind my garden. There was a rambutan tree there. There were not much fruits left on the tree as the... | |
