| | Watercolor artists: wet or dry medium? | | When you're working on your Watercolor Paintings, do you prefer working with wet watercolors from a tube, with dried cakes of color or with watercolor pencils? Why? Have you ever created a piece with more than one type of watercolor medium? Here's my answers:I prefer working with watercolor pencils because I like controlling how wet the medium is. In some cases, I've started out with watercolor washes using diluted paint from tubes, then I've gone back and added specific details using watercolor pencils. | |

| Where to sell paintings online? | | I love to paint watercolors, but rarely have the time. I heard about some websites where you can list your art for sale, does anyone know more about that?I mostly paint the faces and scenes from here in Guatemala. The indiginous are very brightly dressed people with expressive faces and it is a lot of fun to paint them. I´m still not an expert, but I would like to see if there is a market for my stuff out there.:) | |
| | started painting again | | I get up very early each morning and I watch PBS on the TV, they have painting classes. Well I couldn't resist anymore and started watercolor painting the week.
It's been a very long time since I've done any painting but it was fun and I feel
better now that I am doing something not just watching. What inspires you? Have you suffered long dry spells? | |

| | Has anyone ever notice the way a seagull flies on a cold and windy day?. | | I was depress one day and went to the lake to watch the gulls. The sky was grey and overcast. It reminded be of a watercolor painting. The gulls would glide with the wind, sometimes trying to hold their balance, or appeared sometimes to be stationery in the air, then dip down vertically toward the water and then glide back up, vertically. I don't know if the were looking for food in the lake or not. It was very interesting and spellbinding the way they were flying. They would do this repeatedly. After watching this beautiful flying for a while I felt a little better and went on my way. Has anybody ever notice gulls or any other birds flying beautifully? | |
